Welcome to The Shovels

The Shovels is located on the main road connecting Blackpool and Lytham and St. Annes, close to the M55 motorway and Blackpool Airport. The original pub dated back to Victorian times and the present one was built on the same site in 1956.Today this contemporary but traditional local offers a warm welcome to all .Refurbished in 2007 guests will feel at home with leather sofas and soft furnishings. During the summer diners can eat al fresco on the outside patio and in the colder winter months be warmed by a real log fire. Catering for many tastes in both food and drink The Shovels has a fantastic choice in both. We are well-known not only for our quality food but also the real ales served. We have won many awards including CAMRA Pub of the Year and we are Cask Marque accredited. Six ales are on offer at any one time from locally-brewed ales to micro and well-known national brewers, however, if you are looking for a real treat then visit us the last week in October for our famous Beer Festival. Sports fans are catered for too with all major sporting events shown and we are home to many teams including darts, dominoes, pool and football. So, whether you're popping in for an afternoon coffee and gateau, planning that special meal out, or simply trying a pint or watching sport, Steve, Helen and our fantastic team look forward to visit.
