The Mundy Arms is a newly reopened dining house located in the village of Mackworth on the A52 Derby to Ashbourne Road. Inside there are two real fires lit during the winter months and interesting nooks and crannies to allow for private or romantic candlelit dining, and areas which can be reserved for functions and meetings. Excellent food is prepared to order by our Head Chef and his team, with exciting daily specials and theme food nights every week. Historically the pub was built for John Mundy, a wealthy landowner in the mid 1500's. He was a Mayor of London and became knighted. Another family member, Anthony was a respected playwright and acquaintance of William Shakespeare. William Fox Talbot, discoverer of photographic negatives, married into the Mundy family and was a regular drinker at the Mundy Arms. Next time you are in the area, come and join this elite list of visitors to this attractive venue. The welcoming management and team look forward to meeting you!
