Built as a private dwelling, the crown dates back centuries with it becoming a licensed inn by 1816. The inn once stood on the original Great North Road but is now bypassed. Always a haven for weary travellers with its log fires and spacious gardens. The Crown probably came across highwaymen who plotted their stand and deliver tactics over a jug of fine ale! The crown continues to be an inviting environment for all todays travellers. Serving food all day every day from 12 midday through till 10.00pm. The crown offers a wide and comprehensive range of food, real ales and fine wines, there really is no other pub that does it better than us!
